Troubleshooting: How to Prevent "Blushing" (White Spots)

A common issue with any concrete sealer water based formula is "blushing" — when the sealer turns white or cloudy. How do you prevent this?

• Never apply thick coats: Water-based sealers must be applied in two thin coats. Puddling or heavy application traps moisture, causing the white haze.
• Monitor the weather: Only apply when surface and air temperatures are between 50°F and 90°F and will stay in that range for 24 hours. Do not apply if precipitation is forecasted.
• Proper Profiling: Concrete deck surfaces that are exceptionally smooth, hard, or dense must be profiled. We recommend using SCR (Super Concrete Renovator) as a safe substitute for muriatic acid.
