Terrazzö Cast Epoxy Floor System
Terrazzö Cast — Granite-Look Epoxy Floor System
Terrazzö Cast is a high-build, semi-self-leveling epoxy floor coating. It creates a smooth, seamless surface that looks like polished, fine-grain granite. The result is a polished-stone hard-coat with a thick 1/8″ build that lays flat and uniform across large areas. Left unsealed, it cures to a glass-like gloss. Add a urethane or polyaspartic topcoat when you want extra wear and UV resistance, non-slip finishes, and your choice of gloss, satin, or matte sheen. The dense, non-porous finish is easy to clean and maintain, and the consistent micro-speck finish delivers a clean, modern appearance for interior concrete spaces.

Everything you need
- Spike shoes: Spike Shoes allow you to walk on liquid epoxy without leaving footprints.
- Placement tools: 3/8" V-notch squeegee or gauge rake set to 1/8".
- Finishing Tools: Looped roller or spiked roller. Used for backrolling and self leveling.
- Primer: GEC-10W (water-based epoxy) or GE-100 (pigmented 100% solids).
- Body coat: Terrazzö Cast kit (Part A + Part B + pre-measured aggregate).
- Topcoat (optional):
Surface Prep
- Mechanically grind or shot-blast floor to concrete surface profile of 2–3.
- Repair cracks/voids with GCF (fast-cure urethane) or GE-P (epoxy paste); grind flush.
- Clean thoroughly; remove coatings, sealers, oils, and dust.
- Check moisture (ASTM F2170 / F1869) and only install within acceptable limits. A vapor moisture barrier may be needed.
How to install
- Prime the slab. Use spike shoes and plan your exit. Use a magic trowel squeegee to spread GEC-10W or GE-100 in a color that corresponds to your Terrazzö Cast color. Then backroll the primer for even material distribution. This seals pores and sets the base color. Stay within the recoat window. If you wait too long, sand/degloss before the next step.
- Mix the body coat. Mix Part A and Part B for 2–3 minutes. Afterwards, slowly add the pre-measured micro-aggregate while mixing until uniform. Note: We do not recommend splitting kits. If you must, split by weight only with accurate scales (check TDS for weight ratio)
- Place and gauge. Use spike shoes and plan your exit. Pour material in ribbons. Pull with a 3/8" V-notch squeegee or 1/8" gauge rake. Do not push or pull the material too quickly, instead work slowly and let the material flow freely.
- Back-roll . Use a looped roller or a spiked roller to backroll the material east/west, then north/south. This removes squeegee/gauge lines, helps self-level the material, ensures even material distribution, and release trapped air.
- Topcoat (optional). A topcoat will further add UV resistance, and also add wear, scratch and abrasion protection.
Within 24 hours you can apply any of our polyurethane sealers without sanding. If 24 hours has passed since applying Terrazzö Cast, sand/degloss the surface to a uniform matte before topcoating.
Reccomended topcoats are:
- GU-20— solvent-based polyurethane (gloss, satin)
- GU-20W — water-based polyurethane (gloss, flat)
- GU-30 — solvent-based polyurethane with grip additive (orange-peel)
- GP-20 — extremely fast setting polyaspartic (gloss)
Available Colors
- Carbon (Black): deep black with fine white points and a light sparkle. (Contains glitter.)
- Granite (Medium Gray): balanced gray with small white/gray/black specks.
- Platinum (Light Gray): clean light gray with small dark accents.
- Marble Dust (Ultra-Light Gray): very light gray/near white with subtle specks.
- Polaris (Deep Blue): rich dark blue with crisp white micro-specks.
- Truffle (Dark Brown): dark brown with gentle tonal specks.
- Sahara (Medium Brown): warm brown with micro-specks and a touch of gold. (Contains glitter.)
- Ivory (Light Beige): light beige/limestone look with quiet contrast.
Primer color should correspond to the Terrazzö Cast color you select (dark primer for dark floors, light primer for light floors).
Note:
- Interior use only.
- Keep substrate/material/ambient in the recommended range (see TDS).
- Always make a small jobsite sample to confirm color and finish.
- Color can vary by batch, primer shade, and application technique.
- Respect all recoat windows. When in doubt, sand/degloss between coats.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this an epoxy flake or epoxy quartz floor?
A: No. Terrazzö Cast is a high-build polished-stone hard-coat with a tight micro-speck granite look — no flake or sand broadcast.
Q: How much area does one kit cover?
A: The small kit covers about 50–60 sqft @ 1/8" total build.
Q: How do I spread the material at the correct thickness?
A: Apply the product with a 3/8" V-notch squeegee or a 1/8" gauge rake, then back-roll; both methods reach about ~1/8" when done correctly.
Q: Do I need a primer, and which one should I use?
Q: Can I leave Terrazzö Cast unsealed?
A: Yes. It cures to a glass-like gloss when left unsealed, but this finish may fade and degloss with daily use. Even gloss topcoats may reduce the glass-like finish, but maintain their sheen for much longer because of scratch, abrasion, and UV resistance.
Q: What if I miss a recoat window?
A: Sand/degloss the material to a uniform matte per TDS, clean thoroughly, then proceed.
Q: Can I split a kit into smaller batches?
A: Not recommended. If unavoidable, split by weight only with precision scales; off-ratio mixes may not cure correctly. See TDS for weight ratios.
Q: What’s the correct placement/rolling method?
A: Pour in ribbons, pull with a 3/8" V-notch squeegee or 1/8" gauge rake, then back-roll in perpendicular passes with a looped roller or spiked roller. Wear spike shoes.
Q: Can I install over existing epoxy?
A: Only if the existing epoxy coating is sound and shows no signs of moisture damage or delamination. Sand to a uniform matte, clean, and verify adhesion with a test area. Keep in mind, if the existing epoxy coating starts failing, then so will the Terrazzö Cast.
Q: Can I install over tile?
A: Not recommended. We recommend removing the existing tile and grinding the concrete surface underneath to remove any contaminates, especially tile adhesive. Then you may continue the Terrazzö Cast installation normally.
Q: Are any colors sparkly?
A: Yes, Carbon (black) and Sahara (medium brown) include subtle glitter. All other colors are non-sparkle.
Q: Is Terrazzö Cast low odor/low VOC?
A: Very low VOC epoxy components; follow ventilation and safety guidance in the SDS/TDS.
Q: How do I maintain the floor?
A: Dust mop regularly; damp mop with pH-neutral cleaners. Avoid harsh abrasives and chemicals. Check TDS for chemical resistances.
