How to Apply MicroTek Overlay

1. Surface Prep: Ensure the substrate is clean, cured, sound, and properly profiled. Keep the application area between 50 °F and 90 °F for optimal curing.
2. Mixing: Pour 5 quarts of water into a 5-gallon bucket (add your chosen Color Pack to the water first, if using one). Slowly introduce the 40 lb bag of MicroTek while mixing continuously. Mix for at least 1 minute until completely smooth. Scrape the sides of the bucket to ensure no dry pockets remain.
3. Application: Lightly mist the prepared concrete surface with water. Pour a generous amount of the mixture and spread it tightly over the area using a standard trowel, magic trowel, or squeegee.
4. Second Coat (If Needed): If a second layer is required to hide severe imperfections, wait 2 to 6 hours for the first coat to properly cure, then apply using the same method.
5. Finishing & Sealing: Once the surface is dry to the touch, it is ready to accept stains or secondary colorants. Finish the project by applying a high-quality protective sealer, such as a polyurethane or polyaspartic coating.
