Surface Delay or Surface Retarder is a transparent blue, soapy odor,non-hazardous, concentrated, film-forming solution that is designed to retardthe initial evaporation of water from freshly placed concrete or stamp overlayduring finishing operations.
Use this Liquid Concrete Retarder during stamping concrete works even if it is high wind, low humidity, high temperature or anycombination. Surface Delay will help to Keep the cream finish of the surface of overlays or newly poured concrete surface moist for slowing the cure time.
Concrete can be placed with a lower slump, even under rapid dryingconditions, helping to reduce related shrinkage cracking or surface checking byslowing initial evaporation of bleed water.
Packaging: 1 gal (3.8 L) jugs 5 gal (18.9 L) pails.
Coverage: аpprox. 200 - 400 ft² per gallon (4.9 - 9.8 m²/L).
How to Use Concrete Surface Delay Film
Preparation:
Dilution: Mix Surface Delay with water at a 9:1 ratio (9 parts water to 1 part concentrate). One gallon of concentrate yields 10 gallons of ready-to-use solution.
Application:
- Concrete Placement: Place and screed the concrete or stamp overlay as usual.
- Spraying: Using a pump-up sprayer, apply the diluted Surface Delay evenly across the surface in a continuous and consistent pattern.
- Finishing Operations: During finishing, trowel the Surface Delay into the concrete surface or spray it ahead of the smoother on stamp overlays. Ensure it is worked into the surface.
- Reapplication: Under severe conditions (e.g., high wind, low humidity, high temperature), Surface Delay can be reapplied between finishing operations.
Cleanup: Before Surface Delay dries, clean spills and tools with water.
Limitations:
- Surface Delay is not a substitute for curing compounds and is effective only during placing and finishing operations.
- Avoid applying during final troweling, as discoloration may occur.
- For use by trained professionals who have read the complete Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
