Universal Concrete Overlay & Microtopping MiultiPro 5 in 1
Multi-Pro Polymer-Modified Concrete Overlay System
GlobMarble’s Multi-Pro is a universal, multipurpose polymer-modified concrete overlay system designed for both interior and exterior decorative concrete resurfacing. Supplied in a white-base formula, it’s ideal for transforming worn surfaces with microtoppings, spray textures, skim coats, or troweled overlays - and supports multiple finishes like knockdown, wood grain, and broom textures.
Multi-Pro is a cement-based overlay mix engineered for flexibility in the field. Whether used as a thin concrete resurfacer or built up to 3/8", this multi-use overlay system works for pool decks, patios, walkways, and vertical surfaces. For integral color, simply add 1 ColorPack per 50 lb bag and maintain consistent water usage to ensure uniform shade across batches.

Application Instructions:
Surface Preparation (Required for All Applications)
- Clean the Surface: Remove all sealers, paints, curing compounds, grease, oil, dust, and other contaminants. Mechanical scarification or acid etching is recommended to create a proper bonding profile.
- Repair Cracks: Fill any cracks wider than a credit card with a suitable patching material before applying Multi-Pro.
- Dampen the Surface: Saturate the concrete with clean water and remove any standing water before placing material.
- Cure Time: Ensure concrete is fully cured (minimum 28 days).
- Environmental Conditions: Do not apply if rain is expected within 6–8 hours or if temperatures will fall below 50°F within 24 hours.
Mixing Procedure (Start Here for Every Application)
- Start with the minimum water requirement for your selected application (refer to the chart above).
- If using ColorPack, add 1 full packet to the water and blend thoroughly before adding powder.
- Slowly add one 50 lb bag of Multi-Pro while mixing with a heavy-duty drill and paddle mixer (min. 650 RPM).
- Mix for 3 – 5 minutes until lump-free.
- Adjust water as needed to reach desired workability - do not exceed maximum listed.
- ⚠️ Use the same total water amount per bag for color consistency across batches when using Color Packs.
Application Methods
Squeegee Application
- Start with 10 pints of water.
- Spread evenly with gauge rake or flexible squeegee.
- Knock down any high points with the squeegee.
- (Optional) Begin finishing or burnishing with steel or plastic trowel 15–20 minutes after placement.
- If the Overlay starts setting too fast while finishing, gently mist the surface with water from a pump sprayer.
Classic Microcement, Trowel Application
- Start with 7.5 – 8 pints of water.
- Apply using steel, plastic or rubber trowel.
- Apply in one or more lifts, up to 3/8".
- Float or texture as desired.
- (Optional) After 15 - 20 minutes you can burnish the finish if using a steel trowel.
Hopper Gun Application
- Start with 9 pints of water.
- Load into hopper gun with 1/4"– 3/8" tip.
- Spray in circular or sweeping motion.
- (Optional) Let flash before texture or knockdown.
- Proceed to texture, knockdown, or leave as-sprayed.
Knockdown Texture
- Start with 8 pints of water.
- Spray surface using hopper gun OR apply with trowel.
- If using trowel, create a "popcorn ceiling" texture by pressing it directly into the surface and lifting straight up without any dragging or lateral movement.
- Let surface set (5 - 15 minutes) until you can touch a raised peak, and have it hold shape without sticking to your finger.
- Knock down the peaks with a trowel to flatten them into a textured surface.
Broom Finish
- A broom finish requires two coats. For the primer coat, start with 8 pints of water.
- Squeegee the Multi-Pro over the entire surface, smoothing down any high points.
- Once set, (45 - 120 minutes) repeat steps 1 & 2 again.
- After 5 - 15 minutes, use a concrete broom on the surface to create the broomed texture.
- After 30 - 90 minutes, lightly broom again to remove excess crumbs. Do not use excess pressure or this will ruin the broomed texture.
Wood Grain / Stencil Finish
- Stenciled finishes require 2 coats. Start with 7.5 – 8 pints of water.
- Apply using a trowel or squeegee over the entire surface.
- Once cured, adhere the stencils to the coating.
- Mix another coat and apply with the trowel. Press the trowel flat into the coating and drag it to create a wood grain texture.
- Once the second coat has partially set, (30 – 90 minutes) remove the stencils. Waiting until the overlay fully sets will make removing the stencils much harder.
Curing Time
- Initial Set: 45 – 120 minutes;
- Light Foot Traffic: 4 – 6 hours;
- Vehicle Traffic: 18 – 24 hours;
- Longer cure may be needed in cold or humid environments.
Clean-Up
Maintenance Tips
- Sweep or rinse surface regularly;
- Clean with mild detergent and water;
- Use mats in high-traffic areas to prevent wear.
